How the numbers are worked out
Fiverr takes a flat 20% commission from the seller on the gig price, extras and any tip; you keep 80%. Separately, the buyer is charged a service fee of 5.5% of what they are paying, plus $3.50 on any single payment under $200. A tip counts as its own payment, so if you add one it gets its own 5.5% + $3.50 on top of the order's fee. Neither of these two fees is paid out of the other: Fiverr's 20% comes off your earnings, and the service fee is added to what the buyer is charged. This calculator does not include payout fees, currency conversion, or the lower commission Fiverr may offer under a Seller Plus plan, since those are not flat rules published for every seller.
