Fiverr gig not showing in search results?

Updated

You search your own keyword, scroll three pages and your gig is not there. Most missing gigs are paused, under review, being re-indexed, or lower than your own account shows. Go through the checks below in order. Only the last one needs Fiverr.

1. Check that the gig is live

Open My Business > Gigs and read the gig's status. Only an Active gig is live in the marketplace.

StatusIn search?What to do
ActiveYes, it is liveGo to step 2
Pending ApprovalNo, under reviewWait for the review to end
Requires ModificationNo, not publishedMake the edits Fiverr lists under the status
DeniedNo, not approvedRead the reason on the Gig management page
PausedNo, hidden from clientsSelect Activate
DraftNo, never publishedFinish and publish it

An Active gig can still be flagged. Fiverr's Trust & Safety team reviews gigs whose description, images or video do not fully follow the Terms of Service or the Community Standards, and a gig that breaks a policy can be removed from search.

2. Search the way a buyer does

Fiverr personalises search. Its Help Center says results vary with the keywords used and with each client's needs, preferences and past activity, so your own account is a poor test.

  1. Open a private window and stay signed out.
  2. Search your exact gig title. If the gig comes up, it is in search, and the question is only how high.
  3. Search the words a buyer would type. Read past page one, and count the ads apart from the organic results.
  4. Repeat on another day. Fiverr updates rankings as new performance data comes in, so one search is a snapshot.

3. Edited recently? Give it a few days

Fiverr says an edited gig may disappear from search while its system re-indexes the gig, and should reappear after a while. It gives no fixed time. Significant edits, such as a new title, category or price, may also trigger a review, and the gig may stay hidden until the review ends.

Search the same keyword again over the next few days, and make no further edits until the gig is back. Each new edit can start the wait again.

4. Live but buried

If the gig is active and a private search still does not reach it, Fiverr names two causes.

Placement compares your gig with others on relevance, past performance with similar buyers, review scores and responsiveness. A new gig has no order history or reviews yet, so a narrow keyword is easier to reach than a broad one.

5. Weeks of nothing? Ask Fiverr

If the gig is Active, unedited for weeks, and absent from private searches for its own title, the cause is on Fiverr's side. Fiverr's article on missing gigs lists no way for a seller to see whether a gig is held back. Ask Fiverr Customer Support about that gig, and keep the dates of your searches to show them.

Where GigScope helps, and where it does not

GigScope is a Chrome, Edge and Firefox extension that checks where your Fiverr gig sits for a keyword. It answers step 2 for you and keeps the answer over days.

GigScope runs the search in your own browser, so it sees the results your Fiverr account sees. For a buyer's view, also search in a private window. GigScope cannot tell you why Fiverr holds a gig back, and it cannot lift a restriction.
